CO-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
At Lumière Academy, we believe that extra-curricular activities are crucial not only for students’ self-development, but as preparation in their journey towards entering a higher-education environment.
Club & Societies
When students apply for scholarships to enter higher-education facilities, they will be assessed not only by their academic grades, but their leadership positions/general participation in clubs & societies. Here at Lumière, students have the opportunity to start their own clubs or societies, provided that they meet set-criteria.
In every club and society, positions ranging from president, vice-president, treasurer etc. will provide students with responsibilities and added-knowledge and skill-sets. Teachers will monitor and provide relevant support and guidance to students as they are given a platform to shine in their chosen roles.
Sports
Students will undergo general fitness activities once a week. The first half of the year will be spent in preparation for Lumiere’s Sports Day whereby students in their respective houses (Red, Blue, and White) will compete against one another in sports such as badminton, table-tennis, captain’s ball, swimming etc. During the second half of the year, students can participate in sports such as tennis, futsal, swimming, dodge-ball etc.
Special Occasions
Students celebrate major festive celebrations ranging from Chinese New Year, Deepavali, Christmas, Birthday Bash and so on. Teachers, students and parents look forward to join Lumière’s Annual Day held to celebrate our graduates and their outstanding IGCSE results. Students will be involved in performances whilst graduates will give short-speeches to encourage their juniors. Teachers will celebrate the accomplishments of their students together with proud parents.
School Trips
Students are exposed to a variety of educational and non-educational trips yearly. This is a great time for students and teachers to strengthen their bond with one another through either a day-trip or through a short vacation. There’ll also be educational trips to colleges and universities specially for students who are considering their pathway after IGCSE’s.
